Christian Formation · Chapel

Shaping hearts, not just minds.

Chapel is a vital piece of a child's Christian school learning experience, and at TKA, discipleship is the whole point.

The Goal of Chapel

Academic excellence, spiritual formation, one program.

Our goal is to exemplify Christian principles in a program of academic excellence, and to help develop each child intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

Intended to augment the Bible curriculum taught in each classroom, Chapel is a vital piece of a child's Christian school learning experience. Chapel is a weekly time of corporate worship for all TKA students, where a specific character quality, Bible story, and verse are emphasized.

The TKA Chapel Coordinator and the PCA Student Ministries Team prayerfully plan each week's lessons and recruit various individuals from the school and community to lead our time of learning during chapel.

We believe TKA students are being prepared to be the future generation, and to be witnesses about the loving and mighty God we serve.

Four Pillars

Information without formation is incomplete.

Academic excellence matters because students made in God's image are worthy of rigor. But TKA's goal is not just to teach children, it's to disciple them.

Weekly Chapel

A weekly time of corporate worship for all TKA students. Each week a specific character quality, Bible story, and verse are emphasized | planned by our Chapel Coordinator in partnership with the PCA Student Ministries Team.

Scripture Memory

Every grade memorizes a curated set of passages. Memory work happens daily, with each class regularly leading the school in recitation.

Biblical Worldview

Every subject | from language arts to science to history | is taught in light of Scripture's account of reality. We use differences of opinion as teaching moments for discernment.

Students Leading Chapel

Each class presents in chapel throughout the year, leading pledges, prayer, scripture, and worship. Leading builds confident, Christ-following leaders.

The Gospel, Twice a Year

Christmas and Resurrection chapels.

Special emphasis is placed on the Christmas and Resurrection chapels, and twice per year the gospel message is presented to the students. Each student is encouraged to ask questions to understand the gift that is given to us in Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

Students who make the decision to exchange their life for a life lived in Christ are mentored and discipled by TKA staff and faculty in order to encourage their faith and maturation.

Students Leading Chapel

Building strong, confident, Christ-following leaders.

Throughout the year, each class presents in chapel and leads the school in our pledges, prayer, scripture, and worship. Leading chapel gives students a sense of pride in themselves and ownership of their spiritual walk.

Presenting in chapel builds strong, confident, Christ-following leaders, prepared to share their faith well beyond our walls.
